Chronic Scalp Folliculitis Despair

Asking on behalf of my DP, mid fifties, has suffered with it for over 10 years.
His personal hygiene is exemplary, showers twice daily on getting up and after work / gym. He is healthy in all other way, does not smoke or drink excessively, does not overindulge in sweet either.

It’s all over his scalp, unsightly and painful. Has been on various courses of antibiotics over years, nothing clears it up. Does anyone have a success story on how to get rid of it? Thank you.

Try colloidal silver applied to the scalp (one with actual silver particles, not a homeopathic tincture).

By the way were antibiotics prescribed by GP or was he referred to dermatologist? I noticed that dermatologists often prescribe different things then GPs so they work better.

He is awaiting referral now to dermatologist, so far GP only.
