DD is desperate to get an apparently free add-on that was released for the 15th anniversary. Something to do with glitter cannons? I'm not sure. But whenever she goes or I go to the add-on bit of the marketplace I get error code U-000. Is there any other way of getting it? Asking for an upset 7 year old.

If it doesn't work out, try getting her a book from the library?

LittleBearPad · 05/06/2024 23:43

Rather a shitty reply @RogueFemale

I can’t help @TequilaSunsets but hope someone else can.

Has the code expired?? I'll ask my teenage sons in the morning x

I googled and found this : https://www.sportskeeda.com/minecraft/how-fix-minecraft-error-code-u-000

looks like it’s an error others have found. No personal experience but I know how annoying it is especially in early days of Minecraft trying to navigate this stuff. See if any of the suggestions in here work, though it looks tricky. Good luck!

shellyleppard · 05/06/2024 23:48

Op I just checked on Google..... the event ran from the 15th to 29th may....

Sorry!¡ It was only on for a limited time x

@RogueFemale She has a reading age of 13, is learning two instruments, plays dodgeball, swims, climbs, is singing with her choir in a production of the Magic Flute and does Year 6 maths. So yes, she has plenty of books. Tonight's bedtime reading was "nanotechnology made easy". You can rest easy about her brain development. She just likes to play Minecraft for half an hour on a Saturday and Sunday too, which I'm absolutely fucking fine with.

Check your internet connection: If you encounter error code U-000, ensure that your internet connection is in working order. The error code appears to pop up due to some miscommunication between the player's device and the Minecraft Marketplace.

shellyleppard · 05/06/2024 23:55

Maybe rogue female meant to look for how to play Minecraft books?? They have different ones for different worlds

Unrealnotunrealistic · 05/06/2024 23:55

Hope this helps @TequilaSunsets

singingthypraises · 05/06/2024 23:59

I don't have any more suggestions than already mentioned but I do empathise as I too have a Minecraft loving child. Mine is older and still loves it but I do remember when they were 7 and the upset when things didn't work. For what it's worth Minecraft is also well known for being a genuinely great educational tool as well so the judgy poster can maybe read up on that too Wink In fact there was even a Minecraft Education edition that our child got a lot of learning from!

TequilaSunsets · 06/06/2024 00:03

I think I've figured out the problem, which is that the marketplace isn't compatible with my iPad, which is what she plays on. Thank you for the helpful posts.

If you can access the marketplace at all then you can search for the 15 Year Party Supplies add on, which is free. That might be what she's after. No need for a code or a link or anything, just search for it and install.

Edited

My reply was based on my experience on an idyllic Greek island, on holiday with a friend and her 11 year old son. He played Minecraft all and every day for the whole week. Barely spoke. Having to eat meals together was an annoying interruption to playing Minecraft. He wasn't interested in going to the beach or days out. It was horrific how addicted the boy was.

Also an ex-boyfriend was addicted to WorldofWarcraft. Literally two solid years of it.

Maybe you should read more books and discover that the 300 million people who play Minecraft aren't that one child.

There are books about Minecraft addiction?

RogueFemale · 06/06/2024 20:30

@LordSnot There are also pages of Google results for 'addiction to Minecraft'.

Needmorelego · 06/06/2024 20:36

@RogueFemale good grief will you chill 😂
It's a building game.
I build but use physical plastic bricks instead (see my user name).
When I was 11 I wouldn't have been that excited by a Greek island. A new Lego set I would have been though.....

RogueFemale · 06/06/2024 21:07

@Needmorelego And you think that's a good thing, to be more interested in plastic, or in a computer screen, than to enjoy swimming in the sea, snorkeling, engaging with the natural world?

Needmorelego · 06/06/2024 21:16

@RogueFemale I can swim, enjoy nature and build with my plastic bricks.... amazingly 😂
But so what if that particular kid doesn't like swimming or whatever.
People like different things. Shocker 🙄

Lonelycrab · 06/06/2024 21:20

@TequilaSunsets ive just asked my ds(12) who’s a complete minecraft ninja about glitter cannons for the 15th anniversary, he drew a blank, so I’m not sure this is an actual thing.

There seems to be some stuff about confetti canons going back years ago according to google but that’s all I could see.

And @RogueFemale minecraft can be an incredibly positive, creative game, and between long country walks, mountain biking and doing very well at school, my son loves it, so your posts seem a bit judgemental imo.

TequilaSunsets · 07/06/2024 01:21

@Lonelycrab Thank you - I actually managed to sort it out in the end. I had to update the app. All sorted.

@RogueFemale Still not sure why you thought your friend's son/ your ex boyfriend had anything to do with this thread. But the common factor seems to be...you? Perhaps if you were a more interesting conversationalist the people around you wouldn't retreat into screens. Maybe if you read some books? Just a thought.
