What little things does your OH do that makes you feel loved?

I wear a certain style clothing and my DH will often come home with charity shop finds that somehow are always amazingly spot on. They are always better than what I ever manage to spot. It always makes me feel really loved, he knows me and my preferences well and I feel like it means he thinks of me when he's out and about.

What little things do your OHs do that make you feel good and loved?

He keeps little packets of salt in his wallet because he knows I like salt on everything and sometimes there isn't any on a cafe table.
He also keeps a hair bobble in there for emergencies and knows my favourite, quite hard to find lipstick shade which he periodically gets me when he can find it.
He warms up my side of the bed on cold nights. We don't live together so just having him there is a treat but he does that too which is a bonus.

That's really sweet. It's nice when someone just thinks to do these sort of things.

my DH brings me a cup of tea and places at my bedside every single morning.. it doesnt matter if i dont drink it, or it gets cold or whatever, but can guarnatee that he will make it without fail

RosesAndHellebores · 05/06/2024 20:57

He checks the water on my bedside table and makes sure I never run out.

Every night before he settles down to sleep he tells me he loves me and does it again when he wakes up.

Mine always kisses me and tells me I'm beautiful.

Will get up with the kids to let me rest even when it's his only day off and on the other mornings he has to be up at 4am

Always tells me he loves me

Does so much to help me and make my life easier. It always feels like we're a real team.

FuckMeUpFlorida · 05/06/2024 21:01

He always tells me I'm beautiful, even when I am most definitely not looking/feeling it!

He makes me a roast dinner the night before I go on a business trip because he knows my hours will be all over the place when away, so this is his way of getting a square meal into me before I go. This one has sort of evolved over time Grin

He puts petrol in my car at the start of the week. Never ask him, but off he goes on a Sunday.

Knows my order at the bar and the correct corresponding snack Gin

I forgot one - I'm a nervous driver and he'll always sit in the front and support me. It's been this way for 8 years now and he never complains!

He makes me a coffee every single morning. If he’s up and gone really early, before I’m awake, he puts it all together and I just need to put the water in. It sounds like nothing but it’s the fact he’s thinking about me at 5am or whatever.
Also brings home flowers randomly because he knows I just love flowers. And mcflurrys… cause same.
oooh and he does the arm thing if he ever needs to slam the brakes on. I love that his first reflex is to try and protect me.

Always makes our tea in matching cups.
We have a set that matches our service, then some that are pairs, ie Xmas, Easter ,.certain shapes , larger etc , he always makes them in 1 of the pairs. Never the standard ones.
And if there's for example 1 red but other is in the wash he'll wash it so we have matching.

Fuels my car. I have bad joints and holding the pump lever really hurts.

Does school run if rain in the morning before work, he always says it's rain ill take them save u getting wet. Its not like I'll melt but hey of you're offering!

We spend a lot of time making gestures for one another but his for me:

Works away so brings me chocolate and little treats he's picked up on journey home

Brings me a cup of tea in the morning

Always makes sure I've got a full water bottle to take to bed

Let's me use the shower first

Always looks for and buys me thoughtful gifts, will spend hours researching products for me and finding the exact thing I need

Will always give me the best of the food and drink we have

The list goes on but we are crazy for one another and love showing one another through little gestures. Makes the day so much brighter!

We have the summer duvet on the bed but it's still cold up here. He goes to bed before me every night and when sorting the duvet he always puts the blanket on my half of the bed, ready for me to get in.

He always let's me have the bigger portion of chips ❤️

BitOutOfPractice · 05/06/2024 21:16

He cooks for me every night. At weekends he makes me a lovely brunch and knows I like my bacon a bit crispier and my egg a bit more well done than his. He knows what mug I like my tea in. Just little things like that?

his first words every single morning are “y’ok baby?” even before he’s opened his eyes.

he never notices how I look. I’d like him too when I look nice but to him I look lovely all the time, even when I really don’t.

he’s a great present buyer.

and he pretends really well to be enthusiastic about random stuff I love like history and football.

he’s just kind. He’s not verbally romantic but kind and thoughtful and helpful Every day.

Ooh I'm a nervous driver too and DH is endlessly kind about it!

These are all so lovely to read!

This is a lovely thread 🥰

My DH does loads for me but the ones that spring to mind

He makes me lunch to take to work, even though he WFH so doesn't need one for himself. If I'm WFH he brings me coffee and a snack or breakfast if I haven't had it.

If I'm watching TV in bed he'll often just bring me up a coffee and a snack.

He stays up to let the cats in at night so I can go to bed. If we go to bed at the same time and one of us has to pop down to get them he'll normally do it.

He listens to me endlessly complain about work which I find very cathartic but must be very tedious for him.

He does all our cooking and if I really want something for tea he'll make it for me.

Snowpaw · 05/06/2024 21:27

He takes on all the mental load of organising holidays for us and all the admin to do with that. Also date nights - he organises the babysitter, books the table, just tells me what time I need to be ready and when. I really appreciate that because I don't have much spare headspace for any of that.
