Do I give then.tax my bank details?

I applied for a ppi refund, which I have done before. Last time I got a cheque and paid it in, This time, which is for a small amount related to tax being wrongly taken from it last time, I have been asked for my bank details to have it paid in. it is £98. (Which would be very handy indeed) and I have been asked for my account number and sort code. I am on the brink of supplying it, but has anyone heard of this being any sort of scam, and could they potentially use that information to get money out of my account?

Thank you

I can't see how. For years this info was printed on every cheque and was handed over quite freely to all and sundry.

If I know the person or firm I'm dealing with (& they did not cold call me), I'd hand my account No. and sort code over without a second thought. Indeed, I have done on frequent occassions.

Yes most businesses freely give out this information and they don't have their bank accounts raided

Thank you for your input. That is very reassuring
