Is there anyone you'd press the button on?

You can press a button and a person of your choice dies. Not painfully. You don't have to do anything and nor does anyone else. They just drop dead.

Is there anyone you'd press it on? I guess my question is, is there anyone you'd murder if you (nor anyone acting on your behalf) would have to actually do anything.

There are people who come to mind but I think I'd say no. Knowing that a few people would likely say yes about me and the fact I think they'd be wrong to as I don't think I deserve it would make me hesitate. I can't truly know someone like I know myself and so I can't trust myself to completely understand them and make that decision. I couldn't be responsible for that.

All the men who raped me. All the men who raped any man, woman or child.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 05/06/2024 00:25

Donald Trump

I wouldn’t kill anyone but I would push a button to make them feel fear the and crushing hopelessness they had inflicted on me.

That sounds fair. I'll go for that too.

MegsNaiceJam · 05/06/2024 01:07

Yep, I can think of lots of people, usually dictators causing suffering for their citizens, or child rapists and such like. I’d have no issue pressing the button so I’ll have your turn and take out a few more monsters.

MegsNaiceJam · 05/06/2024 01:12

Can we have a button to give someone the raging squits?
Or what about a button that makes them stub their toes more often than most?

SpringerFall · 05/06/2024 01:17

No because I wouldn't sink to their level

DontThinkJustDo · 05/06/2024 01:32

Yep. The man that blew my family apart. Without hesitation.

Empathy button is a much better call than a death button.

Cattenberg · 05/06/2024 01:41

Putin without hesitation. Hopefully this would save tens of thousands of innocent lives.

Josette77 · 05/06/2024 01:45

No. I refuse to have blood on my hands, just because others have blood on theirs.

MyDogsLikePaddleBoarding · 05/06/2024 01:55

If the button can inflict, slow, painful death, then yes, my father. I want him to suffer.

SheepAndSword · 05/06/2024 02:05

Not really but I'd like to put a mute button on several people and stop them contacting me.

Catsmere · 05/06/2024 02:09

Yes, every rapist, every torturer. Better, a button to kill them the moment they decided to do it.

NonBinaryBlanket · 05/06/2024 02:18

The real estate agent who cheated us out of our home. We were never able to buy again and will be in shitty rented accommodation forever.

I would definitely press the button on him.

This is him. Thieving bastard.

I would have absolutely no hesitation pushing the button on Putin, Kim Jong Un, Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, Benjamin Netanyahu or Recep Erdogan. These people need to be killed for the preservation of humanity. I only wish that such a button existed!

Lurkingandlearning · 05/06/2024 06:08

My first reaction was no because they wouldn’t suffer and I want them to suffer. My second reaction was yikes because I hadn’t realised they still fuelled such rage in me.

I think @Lookingoutside suggestion is better.

Theunamedcat · 05/06/2024 06:11

Empathy button is better however
What if your family member was suffering and you were given the opportunity to press the button to end it peacefully?

Hmm

ssd · 05/06/2024 06:17

Not really

MistyGreenAndBlue · 06/06/2024 02:15

Not now. The only person I would have used it on is already dead.

I wished him dead many times and then, suddenly, he was.
It was a weird feeling.

fao · 06/06/2024 02:17

The man that grabbed my pre-pubescent boob on the way to school when I was 11. It changed the way my parents were with me and they never let me go anywhere without them ever again

panale · 06/06/2024 03:09

Yes, my ex. Wouldn't think twice about doing it.

HelpMeGetThrough · 06/06/2024 05:36

If I knew I would 100% get away with it, yes there very much is someone I'd do away with and not at all feel bad about it.

ArcticBells · 06/06/2024 05:41

There are quite a few on my hit list Grin
