Is there enough to do around Stamford for a 2 night stay with 3 small children? Thanks

Not really.
Burghley house is nice but the town area is small.
They do have a market on Fridays.

It’s not really a destination for children.
For a weekend away there are much better destinations with children.

If you have a car with you there are loads of places near to Stamford for small children. Sacrewell farm, Ferry Meadows as well as Burghley which has a new adventure play ground. There is also The Yard (a lovely soft play in town).

DH and I went on a day trip and we struggled to fill five hours there (on market day). It was pleasant and worth going but I wouldn't have wanted any longer there.

No. It's pretty with naice shops but v small. Plus you can go to Burghley.

Once you are out of the playground at Burghley, the kids will be done.

It totally depends on what you like doing on trips away with small children - we preferred a forest/ beach/ space outdoors to run around. Stamford has a nice swimming pool which could be a wet weather plan. As well as Burghley House there are a few National trust places within driving distance. Sacrewell farm and Nene Valley Railway are driving distance.
I guess you have picked Stamford for a reason?
Your kids won’t be into the shops or pubs which is pretty much all the town centre has. My under 5s would have lasted 30 minutes tops in a cafe - there are plenty of cafes. It has a Pizza Express.
So I agree with everyone else - more of an adult destination but with good weather there is outdoor space to play.

Thanks for all of the feedback! I'm trying to find a location around this area to stay for a few nights but struggling. Maybe somewhere within a 30 mile radius of Stamford. Any ideas?

Will you have a car? What type of accommodation do you want - Airbnb/ hotel/ glamping pod? What activities do you want to do?
Stamford is a lovely market town, there is nothing wrong with staying there for a few nights if it’s where you need to be. And if you have a car that gives you lots of options for the child friendly trips suggested all in a 20 minute drive from Stamford
