Any recommendations much appreciated. DS does not enjoy art lessons at school. Struggle a bit to get him to draw at home. Bright in other ways, enjoys music. Any good books that may trigger an interest? Youtube Tutorials?

Draw with Rob is what you need.

Link it to whatever his interests are - if he likes dinosaurs, get a book about how to draw dinosaurs... that kind of thing

Draw with Rob on youtube and he has some books.

Not everyone likes everything. I’d probably just leave him me tbh. But if you really want recommendations then what my kids like most of all is being given a giant roll of paper, loads of different paints, glitter glue, stuff to stick and being allowed to make a real mess. Also, sidewalk chalk and colouring in the patio!

I encouraged learning to draw cartoons. Takes the pressure off it needing to look "perfect".

Oh and posted too soon but the Usborne Step by Step drawing book! But neither will draw with pencils. If it’s not messy they aren’t interested 🤣

Thank you for all the suggestions. Looking up Draw with Rob.

DS will draw on Scratch (coding), but has to draw at school so I want to find a way to try to catch his interest. Won't push it though.

have you thought about using a tablet with a pen? using a device might help. I use ipad but there are much cheaper alternatives.
