Gifts at destination weddings?

Would you give a gift when it's cost you a small fortune already?

Hen do was abroad, wedding is also abroad in a different destination, would you still give a gift? Obviously will have had two holidays out of it but not in destinations that would've been chosen independently.

I'm in a similar situation with a family member and both hen do and wedding are in destinations I wouldn't choose to go to and they will cost a small fortune. B&G have asked money towards a super expensive honeymoon instead of a gift. Much as I'm really fond of her it does smack of bridezilla Instawedding and champagne ideas on beer money.
I wonder if it's a way of trimming the guest list down! 🤣

@Slugsandsnailsresidehere they are a bit cf, asking for attendance at a destination wedding as well as money towards a honeymoon!

This couple haven't requested money or produced a gift list tbf, so it may be they don't expect anything.
