Ordered a personalised item from an Etsy seller as a gift. Not far off £100. Estimated delivery was showing as being 2 days before I needed the item so I messaged the seller to check that she would be able to dispatch the item in time to hopefully meet that delivery estimate (provided things moved seamlessly through Royal Mail of course!).
Seller advised that was no issue. She’d ensure it was dispatched in time and that at the checkout there is an express shipping option so if I picked that then it should hopefully get it there earlier. So I went ahead and ordered the item. We’re now 2 days behind the day that I actually needed it for and my item still hasn’t even been dispatched!!
I have sent 2 messages over the last week asking if she can advise what’s happening with my order and I’ve had no reply at all. I’ve sent another message this morning stating that I no longer need the item so if it hasn’t already been started then to please not start making it and just issue a refund.
Reviews etc all look legit so I don’t think it’s a scam. Shop Ts & Cs clearly state no returns or refunds.
Am I wrong to expect a refund in this situation? Obviously if she’d dispatched the item as we’d discussed and it’d been held up by Royal Mail then that’s not her fault but as far as I can see on the order progress tracker, she hasn’t even dispatched the item!
