Wisdom tooth removal under general help

I have a wisdom tooth removal middle of next week. It's came through but broken off. One part digs in cheek.
I've waited since pre covid for it to be done. It wouldn't have been 18m ago had my appointment letter arrived but it arrived 2 weeks after the date. However here I am .
Bricking it.
I had the other side done top and bottom about 20 years ago. And can't remember much.

I believe they're gonna have to cut it out because there's only a couple of bits of tooth showing.

I'm scared , I'm going to be scared to eat and drink. Scared of infection etc

I had a lower impacted wisdom tooth out sept 22. It was meant to be general but the consultant said it was fine for local as my daughter was only coming up to a year and I was still EBF, have never had a general and didn't want to be out of the game after. It was all done in the operating theatre under local so I was awake. They had to cut my gum, pull it out etc. It was all fine. Bruised like a f**ker the next day and looked like I'd been in a boxing match. It was pretty sore too so had to take pain meds but it healed fine. I just followed instructions and it healed up. Hope that helps OP.

I had all of mine removed under a GA because they were impacted. I’d been really looking forward to binge reading/watch a tv series on the sofa whilst I recovered afterwards, but was so well that I went to work the following day. The worst bit was taking the preventive antibiotics because I always feel unwell with them, but I could eat fairly normally.

I hope it goes well.

Thank you. They've already said there's no way it can be done local. So definitely GA.

I'm not usually a wuss but this is really getting the better of me
