Is this menopause related? What can I do if so.

Hi all, I’ve just started a new job and am
struggling. It’s a senior role and overnight my brain fog has kicked in.
I'm mid-50s, not on HRT (can’t take it) and I’m really struggling- I can’t seem to remember things and my confidence has deserted me!
I know it’s hormonal because I feel like crying or just staying in bed. I’m so annoyed because I can do this but not like this.

Is this just a symptom of getting older, being in the menopause etc? What can I do to help with this brain fog?

TIA

I get occasional brain fog (also not on HRT). I try to manage it with my diet and exercise. I notice it comes and goes - one day I can be on top form and the next, feel like I've been hit by a bus. I do think it's meno / hormone related.

If it's affecting you on a daily basis, could stress be a factor? Might be worth a chat with your GP or a menopause nurse to see if there's anything you can take that isn't HRT to help with the individual symptoms.

Also, get full bloods done as it might be something else (eg. low iron) causing the brain fog that is easily treatable.

It's great being a woman isn't it Grin

Ah, thanks, @DatingDinosaur
The iron’s a good idea as I do get low sometimes.
Yep, being a woman’s just a laugh a minute!
