Are packing cubes worth it or even needed when travelling?

Trying to make my mind up it they're just an unnecessary faff and not helpful, just more 'stuff'

Or if they're actually helping. I am an organised, minimalist person and don't like having loads of stuff unless I love it or it's very useful

I've got a wash bag for toiletries but other than separate bags for different coloured dirty clothes I can't think how they're that useful (dirty whites in one, dirty blacks in another, light dirty colours in another etc, makes washing loads easier when back home)

We use them all the time when we’re travelling to multiple places and not unpacking each time.

Love them and use them all of the time!

I leave them in my suitcases between trips so no real clutter. They make packing + unloading + separating clothes on holiday so easy.

I have recently converted to them. I have compression cubes.
I’m not minimalist at all unfortunately. I find them useful as I pack day clothes in one, underwear in another, gym stuff etc. Keeps the suitcase tidy.
On reaching my destination, I can just put the cubes directly into drawers/shelves. My DH has not been converted though

I think it depends on the type of holiday - if you are just going to one place and unpacking everything then they aren't that useful. If you are doing multi-stops or a road trip type holiday they are great - as you can plan ahead and avoid unpacking everything every time you stop.

They are an absolute revelation. I use them all the time now.

They're great if you're packing for 4 people using the same suitcase. Means people don't need to dig around in everyone else's clothes to get theirs.

I am also an organised minimalist and I love them!! Dh won’t use them (🙄) but I have different colours for me and the dc and it just makes packing so much clearer and more organised for me.
