Food after teeth taken out

I know I can ask at the hospital on the day but I want to stock up now while I don't have a post op child to look after. Ds4 is 11 and having the rest of his baby teeth removed under GA this week plus one adult tooth. Was 6 teeth altogether I think, now a couple less after 2 fell out on their own while he was waiting. We've been told soft foods afterwards but I don't know how soft and for how long. Ds2 has sensory problems so he is already on a nothing crunchy or with sharp edges diet so can I give DS4 the same or do I need to be more restrictive? I'm conscious that he is having teeth taken from both sides so he won't be able to just chew on the non painful side.

DC is on day5 post dental op and still
on soft cold food. We’ve done scrambled eggs dhal and rice, fish pie, a lot of mashed potato, brioche bread, lots of fruit ice lollies, rice pudding, protein yoghurt. We’re trying to ease up on the medicinal ice cream!

Ds12 had some teeth removed a few months ago - also from both sides. It was about a week of being careful with food. He had a lot of jelly, skips crisps, porridge, well cooked pasta, brioche , yoghurt etc A very limited diet but it’s only for a short time. Just think about anything that doesn’t need chewing or can just be dissolved in the mouth (hence the skips!)

Thank you everyone. Just thought I would update to say that he is home, after having 7 teeth out in the end. As these things usually are it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and he is happily playing with Lego after eating his own weight in soup, jelly and ice cream.
