Dead cat removed by council, but now loads of bluebottles :(

Horrible situation a couple of weeks ago where a cat had died between mine and a neighbour's fence, so the council came to remove it. The man remarked that he was surprised I hadn't noticed any smell or flies, which I hadn't, there was no sign at all. But now the bluebottles have appeared 😣There are so many of them, and they're all darting around near my garden seat so I can't sit out, and they're getting in the house if I leave the door open. How do I get rid of them? Is there some cat remnant left behind?!!

Try boiling water on the patch where the cat was? Too late for the maggots that have already hatched but could eat rid of any that are left

Boiling water and bleach. Lots of it

Thanks for the boiling water suggestions, if I can get into the gap I'll give it a try. Wondering if the council could come back and do something??

They will disappear eventually - they are from the maggots that were on the cat - should be ok in about a week
