If yo are looking at a photo on someone's page and accidentally "like" it, then quickly unlike it, will it still tell them?

No, but presumably the person whose picture you are looking at is a friend so why would it matter??

JacketPotatoFoodOfTheGods · 02/06/2024 20:24

I'm worried it will look like I liked then unliked. Didn't mean to like it in the first place.
What's not clear?

I think they get a notification that you've liked it. if they click on the notification, it will show the post but won't show your like in the notification list. Your only salvation is if a load of people have liked the post too, then it will only show the most recent person's name.

You’re overthinking this. Many people use FB on their phones so hitting like accidentally while scrolling is common. Nobody will be particularly bothered if they do get a notification. Or if someone does contact you and say “did you like, then unlike my photo” you know you probably need to distance yourself from them because they are too consumed by social media.

The only problem, which might be why you’re worrying, is if you’re stalking someone you shouldn’t be stalking.

Thanks @whenyouwereyoung that makes me feel better.

@WhereIsMyLight it's quite a contentious photo. Hence I didn't want my like on there. Not going to say anything more than that.

Yes they will still get the notification- sorry 😞

fieldsofbutterflies · 02/06/2024 22:04

Yes, they will. But it won't show as a like in public or anything.
