Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place but couldn't find a specific topic. I currently rent privately and have lived in my property for just over 2 years.

Since ive moved in, ive had some issues with black mould, mainly around windows and the bathroom ceiling. This was reported but LL just said it was probably condensation and to find ways to treat it myself, which i have and for about a year now this has significantly reduced occurring.

However for a couple of month now, I've noticed damp patches on my walls, it started off as seemingly the paint beginning to flake but now their is obvious wet patches and it's spreading rapidly. Particularly in my kitchen. There's even a damp patch just above a plug socket, I use this socket for my washer so I need it but I don't even know if it's safe to use anymore.

Around 3 weeks ago a home surveyor came out to inspect the house (it was being done on all LL properties) and I showed this to him, he clarified it was penetrating damp and a damp survey was urgently needed. Although he wasnt in a position to make repair reports, I reported myself as soon as he left and LL said they'd log it and someone would come out. 3 weeks later and no one has been out or even been in touch, the damp patches are still spreading. I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant and am an asthma sufferer as it is, so I'm worried how safe this is going to be for when my baby is born.

Firstly is this plug safe to use? Is my house safe for a baby? And is there anything I can do other than start pestering my LL this week?
