Hi
Trying to keep this short.
Dd started complaining of her foot hurting 10 days ago. She had banged it playing in the garden but it was a tiny bang and she carried on playing.
That evening and the day after there was no obvious injury such a bruising or swelling. She would not put weight on it and calpol did not ease the pain. She struggled to sleep with pain.
I assumed it was a soft tissue injury and so she rested for a few days.
As time went on it did swell slightly. After four days of no improvement in the pain I took her to the gp who sent her fur an X-ray.
Radiographer said no acute injury and sent us home with advice to give calpol.
As I said it's been 10 days. Dd is still not putting any weight back n her foot and has been walking on her heal all the time.
The foot is still very slightly swollen and a slight difference in colour to the other one.
I'm not a doctor but I googled it and it's in the Midfoot/lisfranc area.
How long does a soft tissue injury take to heal? Should she be able to weight bare now?
I'm reluctant to go back to minor injuries because the first time I asked if we could have the X-ray reviewed because she was literally screaming in pain. They were very annoyed about that and said a senior radiographer reviews all X-rays the next day and we would get a call if we needed to come back. The receptionist was very abrupt. Also dd has some Sen which can make her pain sensitive and I don't want to waste peoples time when she was already had an X-ray and maybe she is just got it in her head. I dunno. She has usually forgotten by now. I have been watching her when she is distracted just to see if she will put her foot down while playing for example and she hasn't. She's still tiny with some difficulty in communicating so it's hard to know.
