Best Spa Hotel

I'm thinking ahead and organising something for a special birthday, will be looking at 2 (possibly 3) nights away as a couple.

What is the best spa hotel you've been to in the UK? Preferably somewhere where the food is good too 😋

I'd also consider a short flight somewhere (maybe no more than 2 hours) if there's an amazing spa hotel worth travelling to.

Thanks!

The spa at Seaham Hall (NE coast) is wonderful. You can stay in the main hotel or in a very high-end lodge overlooking the sea.

Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder. Stayed for my friends 50th birthday, spa facilities were out of this world, and lots of dining options including the Andrew Fairlie restaurant.

The Galgorm up near Ballymena in Northern Ireland. Fly into Belfast and it’s about 30min from there. You could taxi it, not sure if the Hotel offers airport transfers. It’s fair spendy, but worth every penny.

Grantley Hall and the Gilpin, both northern England.

I went to Rudding Park recently, lovely rooftop hot tub. Ragdale Hall had great food but the spa was a bit dated in places.

I live near the Grove and that's a good spa, plus lovely restaurants and lots of grounds to wander round. It's particularly nice in the summer when the outdoor pool is open. (Also good for celeb spotting if that's your bag, Kylie, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have stayed there).

Limewood in the new forest and the restaurant is Angela Hartnetts which is divine. Btw I've been to Carden Park and thought the hotel and food was dire - spa was nice though but felt completely disconnected from the rest of the experience.

Ribby hall spa hotel, even the smell is divine! Someone on MN once suggested the Delmeny in lythan and it was shocking so definitely avoid there🫣

Lose Hill in Derbyshire is lovely.

The Woodland Spa near Burnley is amazing and is in the process of being refurbished. The lunch there is lovely. I've never stayed in the hotel, but if an amazing spa is important to you, it would be worth looking at.
