Toilet help please

NC for this, because frankly it's embarrassing! I'm not a poo troll, I swear.

I'm 10 weeks pregnant and struggling with morning sickness which has inevitably led me to be spending lots of time around our (only) toilet.

I can't seem to keep it clean, no matter what I do. It always smells like wee (tried the shaving foam trick) gets a build up in the U bend and under the rim (I use harpic black and it doesn't shift it all) and the seat turns this slightly reddish colour which I can only clear with wire wool and pink stuff, but a day later its back. There are also hard water stains at the back of the seat - I think something is leaking slightly but not desperate enough to call a plumber.

I have other DC and work full time so I can't really be scrubbing top to bottom daily but what can I do?! Willing to do pretty much anything at this point!

(I have anti emetics and am under consultant care for the morning sickness but need to minimise how much I take them because of the side effects)

Please help!!

If you think you have a slow leak somewhere causing the smell then it's always going to smell. Would suggest replacing the seat and lid.

I don't think the leak is causing the smell - I think DH's poor aim is causing the smell but I can't keep it clean!

Sometimes the flooring round the base of the toilet isn't sealed properly and wee gets under it. That'll
Never go without new flooring. My parents loo is like that and mine was a bit as I was waiting to replace the flooring so we hadn't sealed it. New flooring now, properly sealed and no smell!

Of course if men peed in the toilet and not on the floor no one would have this problem!

You might just have to get rid of him then!!

Honestly ask that either he sits down or cleans the toilet. You’ve got enough on. He can sit down for a wee at home if he can’t aim properly.

I think the flooring is the problem. DH does clean, and tbh with what he does for us as a family, I can't ask much more. He's doing 90% of the parenting right now.

That's only part of the problem though. I've ordered a deep clean thing, hopefully that will do something.
