wwyd bathroom units in both bathrooms and the wc (nothing fancy ikea most likely) and new laminate downstairs OR a summer holiday

things of note:

bathrooms are fine as is, but would look more put together with units
flooring is only 5 years old and fine (just like the herringbone style)
we’ve got 2 dcs
weve already been on an expensive (well for us, suppose it’s relative) holiday this year But we do like 2 abroad hols a year, 1 weekend away and 1 staycation

Cheaper holiday and get the cabinets? See if you still fancy changing the floor next year?

We’d only be considering the cheaper abroad hols anyway but last week of august still gets smacked by school holiday prices 😅

tbh the ikea cabinets aren’t much really, so could probably do both if we did a staycation in the summer, it was just the news of the wettest summer on record making me want to go away lol

When my parents had an argument about this type of stuff when I was growing up my Dad would always say ‘what will the children remember?’ This helped them prioritise I think. We had some great holidays, I don’t really remember the carpet they were thinking of replacing… so depending on the age of the children (if they are old enough to remember) and whether the house stuff is so desperately bad they will remember it!… my vote goes on the holiday.
