Wade Whimsies

Do you remember collecting Wade Whimsies as a child? I was born in the early 80s and bought them for 50p each at carboot sales. I don't know what happened to my collection.
I was feeling nostalgic and have started order them off of eBay for a couple of pounds each.
I'd love to know if anyone else collects them or has them in their home?

Oh I have them! Still in the loft

Graceandfavor · 01/06/2024 16:36

Yes! My dad used to buy them for me. I had a big collection when I was little

Yes I've got a big collection. Animals, fairy tale figures, circus figures, Disney characters and some Wade pots. But they're all packed away!

I don't know how many, I think I might go up
In the loft and have a look now. Mine were all animals

I've still got mine, on display😊I went thru a phase of buying more (from ebay) about 15 years ago but I then decided to cut back to my original collection.

Oh, mine were all animals. I have three groups in my display - domestic pets and farm, UK wildlife and overseas wildlife. About 20 or so.

If I remember rightly a young deer/bambi was my first and it was a freebie.

Car boot sales are your friend here - I go to one every week, and there are usually a few at those. Quite reasonably priced too. My late DM collected them in the 1960's. I can't remember what happened to hers after she died, but I also had two little horses that I bought with my pocket money on holiday one year. They are in the loft somewhere.

I've got one in it's original box too, a bear cub I think?
I get them out now and again but I've nowhere to display them

Lovely - any chance of a photo? :-)
