Has anyone flown TUI from East Mids airport recently?

It says we need to be at the airport 3 hours before our short haul flight, but is this still the case if we check in online and drop bags off the night before?

I am trying to work out how early I need to wake my children up for a 6am flight!

Sounds excessive. The airport is small and can't see why you'd need that long to get through unless it is peak peak peak summer time.

If you do bag drop the night before you should be fine. The time if probably for the farce of the weighing your own cases that takes forever and doesn't seem to work properly!

East Mids is a lot busier at the moment than it usually is as lots of people are choosing to fly from there and avoid Birmingham while the work is going on (the reported “chaos” at Birmingham has been greatly exaggerated, flew out last week and back in last night - it was fine) so it may well be they are asking people to leave more time because they are having capacity issues themselves. I’d stick as close to their recommendation as you can

It seems excessive to me to and it’s only for certain airlines!

I thought two hours would be ample but this is the advice I read.

It’s my local airport and we’ve flown from there many times, it’s always been 2 hours short haul but this time it’s saying 3 for some reason.

Over download weekend?

I thought that, but we fly the weekend before Download.
