Anyone had a tubal ligation and ablation?

I’m booked in for an endometrial ablation due to heavy periods, and the Gynaecologist has recommended getting my tubes tied while they do it.

Im done with kids, and husband has had a vasectomy, but I would still like my tubes tied as if anything happened between us I’d still not want anymore children (we’re 32).

Im just wondering what the recovery is like, as I’m the main carer to my children who are all ASD. Obviously my husband will get time off but no doubt it’s me they’ll want still 🫣

I know it’s a day procedure, but is it common to be kept in overnight (I’ve never had GA before but strong medications always make me sick!)?

I've not had an ablation but I've had my tubes tied during a c section. To be honest I didn't notice any after effects of the tubal ligation as I was recovering from the c section. But what I have noticed is heavier more painful periods. I'm still happy with my decision though.

I seem to recall when I was researching my ablation, that there was a link between tubal ligation and ablation causing more issues for people, I can't recall whether it was to do with pain but do look it up. The ablation itself was very successful and massively improved my quality of life. If your husband has had a vasectomy I would suggest ligation is not necessary.

I had my tubes tied laparoscopically 40 years ago! I was back at work but feeling a bit bloated the next day. I wouldn't worry about that part of it, the major bit will be the endometrial ablation.
