If you were buying a new sofa this weekend what colour would you choose?

Doesn’t need to match decor as that can also be changed to anything you like.

for a family home with two children over 6 and it’d be in the main living room

We got this one last year, but in a deep mustard colour. The room is painted Inchyra blue.

Navy with a washable loose cover!

Blue is the new grey, thank god. Grey is such a depressing colour.
I had new covers made for my sofas ( Collins and Hayes) they are 25yrs old but made of solid oak frames, the company keeps the patterns of its polpular, timeless designs so you can still get new covers years later. You can also have several sets of covers made when you buy them so can ring the changes.
It depends very much on your budget. Our sofas cost around 3k 25yrs ago and the new covers about the same last year.
I think 6k for 25yrs of use is pretty good. Works out at £240 a year and the covers are washable.

ours is burgundy leather 9 years old and still looks good we have gone for pale grey decor

I would go for a velvet sofa in emerald green or teal or orange.

Myblindsaredown · 01/06/2024 14:17

Olive green.

fruitbrewhaha · 01/06/2024 14:19

A dark gingery velvet. Or green.

Not grey or blue, so done to death.

charlieinthehaystack · 01/06/2024 14:19
