Can I find out income of a sole trader?

I know you can search for company accounts online but can you do the same for a sole trader?

Friend of my DD has an ex who always pleads poverty when paying for anything above the minimum for their children but has his own very successful business (as a sole trader) so she's wondering if she could see his accounts anywhere publicly?

No I don’t think you can.

No. That's why they are a ST.

You would also be able to find out very little from a small or micro Ltd co. set of accounts as well.

Is she claiming child maintenance? is he paying it?
I don’t think they will ‘tell her’ his salary, but she can report him to hmrc to investigate if he is declaring his full income.

They came to an agreement for maintenance but we reckon he is earning way above what he was a few years ago

No. There is no way to find out anyone’s income.

If you were to categorise ex who parent into the categories Gold, Silver, Bronze and Shitty Brown, he's upper Bronze pushing into silver.

No but CMS can. She needs to claim through them.
