I'm huddled under a blanket watching the washing being spun round on the rotary line.
It's overcast and flipping freezing 🥶 on the South East Coast

tanstaafl · 01/06/2024 12:41

We’re in the Limburg area of Belgium, start of two week ‘cycling’ holiday.
It rained a lot of the way from the channel tunnel yesterday and this morning’s been a write off too. Still got low clouds, cool, damp everywhere.
Thinking of a short ride after lunch before predicted thunderstorm around 3pm.

Off topic, can’t believe how expensive meat and fish is in the supermarkets ( Aldi, Lidl, carrefour ) and you can only get fresh semi skimmed in the largest supermarkets. Bah and humbug.

WirralCyrille · 01/06/2024 12:42

Glorious here in the North West - second lot of washing already on the line.

Chaoseverywhere · 01/06/2024 12:43

Yes. Depressing. I’m sitting here under an electric blanket.

by the way- electric throws absolutely best thing ever!

Summerfreezemakesmedrinkwine · 01/06/2024 12:43

Sick of it now!

TheNoonBell · 01/06/2024 12:47

GirlOfThe70s · 01/06/2024 12:56

Oh Don't know where you are living but round here has been lovely spring days .

round here? where is that to then @bluetopazlove ? where there have been lovely Spring days now that we are in June , ie summer ?

mysi · 01/06/2024 13:02

South. 19c, dry, sunny. Bit of a breeze yesterday and today though. Had some off-on rain a few days ago. It's definitely been lower temp and rainier than normal.

SOxon · 01/06/2024 13:03

really, what is the point? of posting to tell us all about your local balmy/warm/hot weather when you do not say where you are ??? you could be in Greece fhs!

TheBirdintheCave · 01/06/2024 13:05

We've got a regular spring day here in Sussex. It's warm in the sun but there's a bit of a blustery breeze. I'd be disappointed if it was the 1st of July but as we're still 20 days from summer I'm not fussed.

It's only the first day, previous days have been spring days. I'm assuming everyone is in the UK unless they say otherwise.

TubeScreamer · 01/06/2024 13:09

East Mids
12 degrees
i am wearing a t-shirt and jumper and cold.

Mostlycarbon · 01/06/2024 13:13

It feels like such a waste that the lightest time of the year is not coinciding with the warmest/sunniest time of the year. If it brightens up in late July or early August the evenings will be darker. Right now, the evenings are long and light but it's too cold to enjoy them.

Seasonofthesticks · 01/06/2024 13:15

North west England here, been 18 degrees the past two days with spots of sun and cloud, we’ve been at the beach two days in a row! Can’t believe people have their heating on. Mine goes off when it’s 13 degrees outside and stays off until autumn.

Seasonofthesticks · 01/06/2024 13:16

@SOxon summer doesn’t begin until 21st June.

Panfriedscallops · 01/06/2024 13:18

North West England here too. Lovely and sunny with a few clouds here and there. Sitting in a beer garden with Prosecco. Can't believe this is not the rainiest place in the uk for a change!

CurbsideProphet · 01/06/2024 13:22

It's bright and warm where I am in NW England. Washing is out in the line, DH is gardening, we will take toddler out to play after nap 😎

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 01/06/2024 13:24

Room temp is 20 (south facing), which means it's about 17/18 outside. All I can say is that it doesn't bloody feel like it.

Coastalcreeksider · 01/06/2024 13:25

I bought a new bottle of gin few days back with visions of sitting outside bathed in warm sunshine with an ice cold gin and tonic, the perfect summer drink and with a gentle breeze wafting the roses but I'm still waiting for that day to arrive. 😩

DilemmaDelilah · 01/06/2024 13:28

I'm in the South west. It has been a lovely sunny day since I woke up at 5.45 and it is 20 degrees at the moment. It's breezy, but lovely.

You're being a bit 🙄 it's only a N. town with Avg.weather .

Mandiba24 · 01/06/2024 13:46

Beautiful sunny day here on the east coast of Ireland. Not a cloud in the sky.

Cooper77 · 01/06/2024 15:03

I remember standing outside a Neros on 1st June one year and being so cold I couldn't stand it. That was then followed by a horrendously boiling hot summer. Watch this space!
