What's your curry order?

I'm trying to get inspiration of what to order for the next takeaway night. We usually go one main per person (though we share), rice and a naan bread and a side of poppadoms.

What else is good. I want something other than chicken tikka and rogan josh.

Tandoori chicken garlic balti!

gingercat02 · 31/05/2024 17:39

Oh, Friday is takeaway here, too.

I like chicken or lamb tikka saag or dupiaza, but my current favourite is dansak.
I'm weird and don't have rice, so a peshawari naan or a roti for carbs.

DH and DS like meaty tikka starters, I'm more likely to have a samosa or pakora, but usually nothing as then I can't finish my main.

All washed down with a glass or several of red wine.

Chicken tikka massala and a cheese naan. Yes I'm that basic

South Indian garlic chilli chicken.

drspouse · 31/05/2024 17:40

(I really don't see saag paneer as a side though! Half the box plus half the rice and save the rest for later in the week!)

Emeraldsrock · 31/05/2024 17:41

dhanzak or a dupiaza or if trying to be health a chicken tikka shaslick. Love a raita on the side.

neonyellowskirt · 31/05/2024 17:53

One meat main (either chicken tikka masala, railway chicken, goan fish curry, or something with king prawns - generally something with tomato and/or coconut, and some heat); loads of vegetable sides (sag paneer; sag bhaji; brinjal bhaji; bombay aloo; more); peshwari naan and/or parathas; chutneys, raita.

If they do dosas, I'll always have those, also that coconut chutney you can only get in restaurants,.

BIWI · 31/05/2024 17:54

We're eating curry out of the freezer tonight! Like you @drspouse we often don't finish all the food, so I always box it up and freeze it for later. After a while, the top shelf of my freezer starts to look like an Indian restaurant. Saves us a bit of money doing it this way as well.

sanityisamyth · 31/05/2024 17:56

Korma. It's the only one I can eat.

Smithhy · 31/05/2024 17:57

Chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna, prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan and 9 poppadoms.

Monkey44 · 31/05/2024 17:59

We share between us a Chicken tikka jalfrezi, garlic naan, chips, pilau rice chicken chat, chicken cutlets, and chicken kebab rolls! Lovely ! Some left overs for the next day.

MinnieMountain · 31/05/2024 18:10

I’m glad I’m making muttar paneer for supper now.

SquigglePigs · 31/05/2024 18:14

Saag paneer is a favourite here.

I love a dupiaza of any variety. Or a balti.

Lamb Rogan Josh is high on the list too. DH would go for a lamb saag.

I also like getting one curry between us and some good tandoori/tikka meat for a change.

And onion bhajis are non-negotiable! 😄

Beakerbrain · 31/05/2024 18:16

Lamb jalfrezi, saag paneer, kemer nan 🤤 with onion bhajis to dip in the jalfrezi sauce.

WildCherryBlossom · 31/05/2024 18:16

We get lots of things to share: rice, naan, daal and saag aloo and jalfrezi. If there are more people we might add samosas, onion baaji etc

LaWench · 31/05/2024 18:17

Chicken tikka bhuna and garlic naan, no rice. I went for butter chicken last time and it was far too sweet, that'll teach me to try something new.
