Hi all,

My Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) card has expired. I have applied for eVisa. Will I be able to use this to travel?

Or do I need to apply for a new ILR card?

does anyone know?

My understanding is that as of dec 24 (and any applications made beforehand) cards will no longer be issued and people will use the app, alongside passport/travel document to travel.

The app is a bit of a faff to set up unless you have a fairly new phone but then all info should be accessible.

You still have to apply online and make an in person appointment for Id check but then you get sent the app info

Actually we've just received card in post so seems to be a dual system at present

@Mayhemmumma thank you for your reply. How long did it take for your card to come?

We also just got a card. It took about 8 weeks after all the documents were submitted and biometrics appointment.

Closer to 12 weeks
