What's faster for passport renewal, check & send or online,?

I have to renew the DC's passports.

I can see it's quicker to do check & send than just posting in. But I can't see any advice on whether doing an online application or check & send us quicker, does anyone know?

In case it makes any difference, one child needs a signature for photos, the other doesn't.

Online was super quick and easy when I used it last summer. You can get someone to e-sign now. You provide their email address and they follow the link. It took like a week and a half and that included sending the old ones back.

I did a child’s first passport online a few weeks ago. The entire process took 3 weeks, from making the application to receiving the passport. That included waiting for a friend to verify the application and then me taking a week and a half to post the birth certificate (we were away).

It’s super quick.

I did mine online a few weeks ago. It arrived in a week.

My adult (home photo) online was back within 2 weeks.

Daughters (photo booth) online was back within 2 weeks.

Both in May,.

I can't comment on needing a signature. Good luck!

Online I think is the quickest, DS2 renewal came back in 8 days.

Online is quickest, and cheapest. It's about another £16 to do it the old way.

We did ours online Sunday before last and it arrived here on the Saturday , so literally 6 days from start to finish.

I like the online process, it keeps you informed all the time of what stage the application is at.
