If you do use anything not recommended by your hairdresser, make sure you tell them about it before your next appointment. I'd recommend asking your hairdresser for advice.

What is a root smudge?

Basically the highlights are “smudged” at the roots so the grow out isn’t so obvious, stark or (in my case) greasy. Its made a huge difference to my hair!
