Like many people, I suspect, I have been baffled by the huge support Trump gets among "ordinary people" in the States. I've just heard Anthony Scaramucci describing him as an "avatar of their victimhood". It suddenly made sense to me-people who feel powerless in the face of the establishment see him as a super-victim, so like them only even more so. His post conviction rant about the unfairness of the system will therefore gain him more, rather than less support.
Could this also explain some of the appeal that Farage has?

I'm not US citizen or resident so just an onlooker but he has just been convicted of 34 class E felonies. Class E being the lowest available- so essentially misdemeanors. It certainly feels like he is being made an example of which is interesting given allegations of what has gone on with other presidents historically.

But I think with this move the establishment might have just secured his victory in November

It's time the IRS caught up with him. Given the evidence of his finagling over many years they should LOCK HIM UP. Not a bloody chance of it occurring. Vile, vile creature.

I think the conviction is going to solidify his support, no matter how the press spin it.

If he is jailed then that support will only grow and Trump can run from prison.
