2 green eyed parents, brown eyed child

Can someone explain this genetically?
Dh and I both have very similar green eyes with a tiny circle of brown around the center, primarily green though.
Our DC1 has solid brown eyes, all one colour.
DC2 has solid green eyes, all one colour.

My DPs have brown and blue eyes, PILs have green and blue eyes.

Why do I not present with brown eyes if I have carried that trait to pass it on? Though how can I have when I should be carrying green dominantly and blue recessively to have green eyes?

No question of us not being their parents, just purely curious!

Good grief, another great example of people "doing their research". For interest I put it into google and this thread came up fifth in the listing with the ridiculous quote about it being 100% impossible. I can safely assume that the people adamant about their facts have not got any qualifications to back up this "knowledge" as the answer to this is covered in the first year of most biological degrees. The idea that two blue eyed parents cannot have a brown eyed child came from research in the Edwardian age and it was a flawed study as they counted hazel eyes as green.

Eye colour is the result of the amount of melanin (the same substance that is responsible for the pigment in your skin). For those interested here is a good article explaining it fairly simply, complete with references to other peer reviewed scientific papers.

Two blue eyed parents with a brown eyed child here. Both sets of grandparents one blue, one brown, all children mixture of blue and brown. All subsequent generations mixed. Hair colour also a complete mixture. Only one family has completely brown hair/brown eyed, which is a brown haired, brown eyed sibling, who married an Asian, and all those kids are brown eyed/brown haired.
