DD arm hair

DD has hairy arms (takes after her father) and wants to do hair removal. She wants to shave but I think stubbly arms is an issue. Any other safe, painless options? Pale hair, pale arms.

Don't we all have hairy arms? Comes from being a mammal. Are yours bald?

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/05/2024 15:25

Mine are blond and unnoticeable. But there's hair. Hers are not unnoticeable. Doesn't help that she had friends from cultures where arm hair is an issue (horn of Africa) and there's been a lot of frankly negative discussion for years now. I've tried my best feminist mum tactics but it's making her miserable so I'm trying a less invasive route.

I shave mine once a week, it's fine, a tiny bit of regrowth might appear but it takes five seconds to run the razor over them in the shower.

I shave my arms. I have thick dark hair and pale skin. I prefer how it looks and feels. I just use a razor, stubble hasn’t been an issue.

I see nothing wrong with other people having hairy arms though - it’s personal preference! In my case the very dark hair and fair skin doesn’t help as it stands out in a way I don’t like.

Thanks @TakeThePain and @Everleigh13

Do you get stubbly legs quickly, because I used to? Wondering if arm hair is different.

I just shave, it's not any different to shaving your legs.

I get stubble on my legs but don’t notice it on my arms. I doubt your DD would get much stubble from pale downy arm hair. Hair removal cream is another option but I find it a faff and it never worked well for me.

Get a flawless trimmer. More gentle than shaving as it doesn't scrape the skin.

Thanks all much appreciated.

I used to bleach mine. It's a tad too thick for me to ever want to risk shaving or waxing.
