Famous 5 vs Lion, Witch & Wardrobe Yoto

For a 7 year old boy on audiobook?

I have a yoto voucher to spend on a series. He absolutely loves the Roald Dahl books but is almost finished them. Would he like either of these do you think?

I loved them as a kid but I worry slightly that they might have dated badly...

Or perhaps the Worst Witch? I have a feeling he will love Harry Potter when he's a bit older but I think he's a year or so off.

Other suggestions welcome!

My just turned 6yo loves the Famous Five on yoto - he got them for Xmas (aged 5.5). I’ve also read them to him (and the first 3 Narnia books).

The Famous Five isn’t actually as dated as you might expect. I decided against the Narnia yoto cards because he found some of it a bit scary when I was reading it to him, but your DS is a little older so might be ok.

Thank you! That's really helpful

Famous 5 audio books are a massive hit with my son . A little dated , but not a problem as he asks me the meaning of old fashioned words. The Lion , Witch and the Wardrobe is , as pp wrote , scary and dark in places. The death of Aslan is also heart breaking .

Damn, I thought this was going to be a fantasy showdown.

(Pevensies hands down, obvs. Especially if Lucy has her dagger.)
