‘Got to get home before the roads close’ as an excuse to leave the office early for 4 weeks a year.

there’s a motorcycle race twice a year on The Isle of Man that they close the public roads for, 37 miles of closed roads, it makes it really hard to get around.

nipping off early because your road is going to be shut is absolutely normal.

but on phone to a UK client earlier I said, oh I best be going as the roads are about to shut…me5 with a polite,’ really? ‘

Totally relate. I live in Portrush where the Notth West road races are held!
