Who could this be?

Have been out but car on the drive. Just checked my phone and saw a notification someone had rang the doorbell and hung around for about five minutes and waiting. He had an iPad type thing in his hands, nothing else, and was wearing a yellow lanyard that said ‘DBS Checked’ with a white identity card hanging from it. I couldn't make out the identity card. I was wondering if he was a charity ‘signer upper’ but he then left and drove off in his car, didn't see him go to any other houses before or after. Any ideas on who he could’ve been/where from? Anxious for a few reasons, mainly addict ex, father of my child, restraining order just expired and wondering if it could’ve been children’s services or similar.

Someone from a charity wouldn't arrive in a car and leave after only going to your house. They also don't need to be checked out in that way.

I would have thought you've been notified if anything by email.

Can you check your junk box?

Someone checking your details for the electoral register? We’ve had them at the door before, and I imagine they may be out and about ahead of general election.

No emails/voicemails/things through the door. I did wonder about the election thing but again not sure why they would wear a dbs checked lanyard. I know my ex has been told if he wishes to contact it must be through a solicitor, family court or children’s services. That’s what made me wonder if it could be children’s services, but not sure how to check, or if it’s even possible to.
