Left the toilet door unlocked at work and was walked in on by a male colleague.

I'm new and now I just want to quit bit obviously can't.

Fml.

Honestly he’ll feel worse than you do probably! It’s also just a mistake, as long as you weren’t doing anything wild (like shagging another colleague in there!) it’ll be forgotten about in a few days.

Definitely no reason to quit

gamerchick · 29/05/2024 15:47

I'm sure your colleague probably feels worse or hasnt even given it a second thought.

I walked in on a male manager at my work who hadnt locked the door. He was mortified. We laugh now if we meet in the bogs about how we'll get married in one and it's fate. My workplace is mint for a sense of humour.

It's a nothing OP. Put it out of your head.

Growlybear83 · 29/05/2024 16:02

I can see you may have felt a bit embarrassed but wanting to leave is something of an exaggeration! Im sure most people have walked in on someone using the toilet at some point. Hopefully you weren't in the middle of a big post curry poo! 😆😆

Maddy70 · 29/05/2024 16:09

Will you even think bout that. Years time?
It happens to us all. He will be more bothered

user1488290202 · 29/05/2024 17:03

I'm so embarrassed, keep thinking everyone is talking about it/me!

It was going well up until now. Do i mention it next time we bump into each other in the kitchen??

Seriously, you are being ridiculous. I would imagine he's already forgotten about it.

MrsTomRipley · 29/05/2024 17:11

He will have been just as embarrassed as you. Forget it.

IncognitoUsername · 29/05/2024 17:11

Don’t mention it. You’ll feel a bit embarrassed for day or so but then you’ll forget all about it.

user1488290202 · 29/05/2024 17:19

I guess him being even more embarrassed is sort of what I'm worried about.

Thanks though everyone, will try to put it out of my mind :(

When I was like 15 I used the toilet in a relative's house. Lock didn't work.

My gran walked in on me. I was on my period and grossness on display 🙈🙈🙈

Honestly don't give it another thought - it happens to everyone!

Sandysandwich · 29/05/2024 17:31

It feels like a much bigger deal than it is, he will probably forget about it soon enough, there is no need to bring it up.
I have walked in on someone before and definitely didn't go around telling people, mostly because that would be really childish but also its not interesting.
Just move on and style it out and it will fade .

SquashPenguin · 29/05/2024 17:35

I walked in on a bloke on the toilet at a gig last week. He’d left the door unlocked too. I was mortified and felt a right dick even though it was total accident. Honestly you need to stop worrying about it.

3DayStockpiler · 29/05/2024 17:38

How are people managing to walk in on the opposite sex? Were you/he in the wrong loo?

Only shared cubicles in the office

I walked in on my colleague once at work when he hadn't locked the door properly. We both felt stupid, laughed about it and forgot it. It was an accident. Don't worry about it. Get on with doing your job and in a few weeks you'll have forgotten about it.

Luxell934 · 29/05/2024 17:42

I walked in on a colleague on the toilet once 🙈 the door didn’t lock properly and I just barged in thinking no one was in there. I was mortified. I apologised and left. It wasn’t someone I was particularly close too so I didn’t make a joke of it afterwards I just pretended it had never happened.

They're mixed sex. They don't seem to make separate blocks for bogs anymore.
