Greek Island Oct half term

Has anyone been to a Greek island in Oct half term and would you recommend it? Were shops and restaurants still open at that time of year?

We went to a small town in Kos in early Oct a few years ago and the local shops and restaurants were already closing down for the season.

We went to Corfu on the 16th October for a week last year ( it was DD's half term which is a week earlier than most other schools)

The part we were in ( Kalami Bay) was mainly open but some restaurants had shut the week before and some were planning to close the following week.

We visited Kassiopi which was open but with a few restaurants closed already. Sidari seemed open when we went there for an afternoon. San Stefanos on the north west coast looked all but shut and we couldn't even find anywhere to eat. Corfu Town was business as usual it seemed.

The little supermarket in Kalami Bay had rather bare shelves as they were obviously planning to close for the season.

We went to Skiathos in the last week of September, first couple of days in October. It was the last full week of the main season, very quiet, some bars closed and the hotels obviously gearing down to close the following week.
