Potential Chickenpox

Question regarding chicken pox/eczema

I have a 3.5 year old son and I think he's developing some spots which I think could be chickenpox. However, I am not 100% sure as it currently just looks like a bit of a rash with a few spots and he does have atopic eczema which he has creams for.

If it turns out to be chickenpox, is there anything I need to do in particular?
Could this cause harm to myself or my baby if it turns out to be chickenpox?
I have already had chickenpox when I was very young.

It is very hard to tell on the photographs provided but there is a few spots there.

I am currently 40+4 weeks pregnant.

If you could help with this then that would be great.

Thank you

There will be one main spot. The mother spot then the others will appear

If you've had chicken pox before it won't be harmful to you, but it could be harmful to other pregnant women who don't have immunity. If it turns out that's what it is, then be careful about who else you see.
Also, if your baby is born while your older child is contagious, then you'd want to keep them apart, and take advice from a paediatrician.

You should be fine as you have already had it. Most likely your baby would have some of your immunity too but best take advice on that.

It’s hard to tell from the pictures, it could be heat rash? Keep an eye on back and neck as they usually appear there first.

Does your son have a temperature or snotty nose? Often first signs.

If it is chicken pox absolutely no Ibuprofen. Use calpol and antihistamines to help stop the itch.

I know chicken pox is going about where I live so it could be.

That doesn't look like chicken pox to me.
Generally it starts on the torso and spreads fast..a few hours and it's very obvious.
I was 40 weeks pregnant when my older children came down with it..and badly.
DD2 was born when they were both covered head to toe. She was fine and weirdly she has never caught chicken pox..adult now and when checked (due to being a nurse) she was immune!

Chicken pox is a fluid filled blister and starts on the torso and spreads from there. You can be feeling quite poorly within a couple of hours from the first blister.

Starting on the limbs with red spots is something else.
