Need help with eating

Am in my sixties had eating difficulties all my life. Been four or five weeks now and am struggling. No sugar muesli, three crisp breads with peanut butter. Two slices of toast. Everyday I think this is unsustainable but I can’t seem to change it. Am overweight at the moment. Can’t exercise.
All pleasant suggestions welcome.

When you say you've always had earring difficulties - do you mean that you overeat, hence being overweight, or that when you try to diet you go over the top the ear too little? Sorry it's not clear from your post whether this limited diet is an attempt to lose weight ? Or do you struggle to eat a wide range of foods ?

Obviously you need to broaden your diet, add in protein and fruit and vegetables - but it's not clear what is stopping you doing this ?

I have a history of anorexia. I am cutting foods slowly, and zi can’t seem to remember how to go the other way.
It’s a stress reaction, as usual with anorexics it’s about control, hence the stress reaction.

Struggling to understand what you mean @ginandlime on the info you’ve provided. Are you saying you’ve gained a bit of weight and this has stressed you out so you’re now cutting your food intake? Don’t understand what you mean by go the other way?

I think with a history of anorexia, this really is one for your GP, random strangers on the internet probably can’t help you with this. Please get some medical help - I know that’s not always easy but please do try x

I keep thinking about the GP but despite the fact I take 21 meds a day, I don’t really know them. I moved here a few years ago and haven’t been in much.
Im stressed due to a traumatic event tipping me back into ptsd territory, I can’t control anything around it, so this is my way of coping. It becomes all to easy after a few days.
I think I was hoping that someone else may have had similar experience. You’re right though, I will try and work up to calling GP.

You’ve got every reason to call the GP @ginandlime and I really hope you will. It must be very tough being triggered back into the ptsd. I’m not sure you’ve posted in the best place for your problem, might be more responses over in Health or Mental Health? You can find those through the All Talk Topics menu.

Take care of you x

I agree with @Keepingongoing . It sounds as if what you really need is some professional support around mental health, rather than advice on your diet, so I think an appointment with your GP is the best place to start with this . Good luck .
