I was stuck in a job I hated, I applied for a new one but top salary band was 5k less then my current salary. I decided to go for it.
3 years later I'm in a much better company and with my bonus and pay increases am on a lot more.
What were your best work decisions. Let's show others how to do it.

I did a band 6 secondment, and decided to step back down to a 5. My lovely manager wasn't too happy, but I'm much happier!

Specialising. I started out in sales support for a life assurance company, then moved into pensions, then moved into corporate pensions. Each time the recruitment pool is smaller and you need to pass more specialist exams, you therefore earn more money. It’s also more interesting to be an expert.

Can I ask what sort of specialising you did ? I'm coming across lots of MNers who are in insurance field (which is mine) and I'm looking for jobs as well and it's really a co-incidence. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm looking to join industry after spending my whole life in consulting space.
