The hotel we are staying in has changed the sheets yesterday and thrown out my son’s cuddly dog with the washing. The dog which his brother gave him the day he was born and he has adored since. He’s 10 but still takes it to bed every night. Ive tried reception no joy just saying try again tomorrow and don’t seem bothered.

The dog is white and blue from mothercare I’ve searched everywhere but cannot find one online. Any help much appreciated if you know where we can find one please, picture below on the day he was born, please be kind I’ve been up all night with a very upset boy x

Thepenisblue1 · 28/05/2024 12:34

Here? £15 eBay

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/256141070170?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=a_7kNVR0R22&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=3pDkMVQLTxe&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Download Google lens op. It's so useful.

Lots of similar out there

Thanks both have contacted the hotel manager who is searching and asking laundry (they outsource it) still no luck so far.
I’ve tried Google lens that one came up but it’s not the same one his doesn’t have a logo. The nearest one is on eBay but it’s got pink ears I was debating how hard it is to dye pink parts baby blue 🙈

Can you find out the name of the company that the laundry is outsourced to and appeal to them directly?

Anewuser · 28/05/2024 14:48

I’ve been where you are, and finally tracked down a replacement ‘BoBo’, however he was never the same and my son always referred to him as ‘The Imposter’.

We do still have him over 20 years later though….

I would stress again to the Hotel manager and ask they contact their laundry service again. Guarantee laundry company will have found it.

Otherwise, in your position I’d now be going shopping for a new buddy.

Sorry, I know how awful you both will feel.

Thepenisblue1 · 28/05/2024 17:39

Sorry it's not the same op. I remember losing my 'lamby' at a young age and was obviously devastated! I mainly remember though how hard my dad looked for it. We trawled that high street, looked in every shop, every bin(!). I still remember how hard he tried to get it back for me - this is my lovely memory, not losing the toy as such if you know what I mean.

Horrible life lesson but one we all go through at some point. I would try and get it back of course but your son will get over it. Maybe you could go shopping for something else and his brother can help him choose something. Or his brother could gift him something new.

Good luck!

I think you should start a new thread or ask for the title to be changed. Something like lost blue and white mothercare dog 2011

Oh god I hate these stories. Of course someone found it, drives me mad when they say things disappear into thin air. We lost mousey and finally tracked down a second one on ebay. To this day we wonder what happened to 'old mousey' who disappeared in our house. So try ebay. Good luck

Zobert80 · 29/05/2024 17:18

So we have some amazing news the laundry managed to find him. He doesn’t smell the best but he’s back!! Over the moon and he won’t be leaving the house again 😂

Hurrah!! Delighted for you and DS.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 29/05/2024 23:08

I love how worn he looks compared to the older photo. He really has been loved 😍

CadyEastman · 29/05/2024 23:12

So glad he's back with you. I agree that now your DS is 10 and Teddy is so precious, it's time to start leaving him safely tucked up at home.
