It's hard to imagine but up until then, E was seen as pretty benign. I didn't do it, but I didn't do cannabis or tobacco either. I'd just come back from a summer away & everyone was nonchalantly taking E, we honestly didn't think there was any risk. I'm in Ireland - the Sunday Times did a big provoke piece, with her photo shortly before she died, at her parents' request. It was horrific.

OP, curious that you you've never been to a wedding, in your 40s? That's definitely unusual - do you have a small network / family, or you just didn't want to?

Ok just googled and she died just after her 18th birthday in November 1995, I was about to turn 18 in the January. I’ve also never forgotten her face and have never touched ecstasy. I’ve also told my dc about what happened to her but luckily both are hugely anti drugs.

I'm 41 and I've never bought a toaster. We've still got the one DH had in his student house. It only occurred to me the other day because we're thinking about redoing the kitchen (something else I've never done!) and I don't feel qualified because I haven't even started with the basics

Many years ago I worked with an ex Fleet Air Arm Observer who would happily fly in a fully loaded piston engined torpedo bomber off the old Ark Royal but thought ballooning dangerous.
