People who resell concert tickets

What do they do if they don't sell ?

Taylor swift is next weekend and there are still loads of tickets on for resale

Where are you seeing loads of TS tickets for resale that are not scams?

and I guess that’s the luck you take when you book that there’s always a risk you’ll be ill / plans change and you lose what you paid. I think some might offer insurance?

Ginkypig · 27/05/2024 17:55

Iv only ever done it once.

a band (not massive like Taylor Swift)I wanted to see announced their tour then a few months late they added dates in a town much closer that would mean saving on a hotel and much less expensive travel.
i bought tickets for that show and sold the original ones.

i listed them just over what I paid to cover the fees and postage etc but not make a profit or loss on them. They were cheaper than others had listed them so luckily they sold quite quickly.
i did have to wait to receive the money though until they had actually been used to enter the venue so I was crapping it that something would go wrong.

to answer the question though I’d probably have gone to both!

Pedallleur · 27/05/2024 18:05

You lose your money if you can't sell or don't go. Some will be genuine some may be a scam others will be people who thought they would make a few quid. I only use twickets and I've not seen any listed on there lately but the policy on there is face value or less.

Lose money, or dependant on reason and if they had insurance reclaim on insurance

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 27/05/2024 18:08

I wonder if alot of people are waiting to see if the prices drop on the day and buy then. They are not even available to transfer yet so technically they are not really available to sell.

It has been stated any 3rd party resales are not valid so it may put people off paying £500 or more - it would me.

Pedallleur · 27/05/2024 18:14

Just looked on twickets and none showing for the UK but some in Europe especially in France. Viagogo are villains anyway so I wouldn't buy from them.

FlakyScroller · 27/05/2024 18:16

A lot of those tickets don’t exist.
It’s just chancers trying their luck.

mayaknew · 27/05/2024 21:07

I was thinking more people who buy then sell them to make a profit. It was.viagogo I seen them on. And StubHub.

I've never heard of twickets just had a look yeah none for TS

Just google some of the Viagogo stories. It's about scams. Prob are some genuine tickets out there but think a few people on this site have been stung. Twickets sell it to me by being face value or less. I use PayPal and download to my phone. The tickets exist. Only used a few times but no bad stories about it. The fact TS is ñot on there tells me fans are not parting with tickets so where are the Viagogo coming from? If you cant afford the face value just say no.

Dearover · 31/05/2024 20:03

Viagogo is not an official reseller. There is a huge risk that buyers will be refused entry.

Ticketmaster and AXS have made it clear that tickets should only be sold through them or official resellers to avoid the tickets being cancelled. I bought tickets for a gig through Twickets once and had no issues, but Wembley had a queue for Viagogo tickets, where many were bring sent away as the tickets were scams.

Does anyone have 2 tickets for taylor swift at cardiff they would like to sell???
My daughter wasnt obsessed when the ticket first came out so resale our only option but £500 a ticket is not an option for us!!!

LizzieBennett73 · 01/06/2024 06:20

I think Taylor Swift is very unusual situation due to demand but there are so many people out there using it as a scam that I wouldn't touch resale tickets even though my DD's are desperate to go.

We went to see Bruce Springsteen in Cardiff a few weeks ago and there were odd random empty rows of 6 seats together where I presume someone bought tickets with the intention of selling them and didn't. Happens at a lot of concerts.

That's the hot ticket and no one is going to part with them unless they have to. You aren't going to get them cheap if they do come up. Set your budget and be realistic.

remembertochangeback · 01/06/2024 10:26

I've sold (and bought) a few times via Twickets. All worked no problem. Once, my ticket didn't sell, so I just had to take the hit - guess that's the chance you take buying gig tickets months or years in advance. I would only use Twickets though - they are an ethical resale site where you can't list the tickets for any more than face value.

belinda55 · 04/06/2024 10:15

I've tried twicketts but no tickets.......

No guarantee there will be. Seemingly every girl in the UK wants to be there but keep looking.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 04/06/2024 18:28

Loads of tickets go on sale on Twickets a few days before when people suddenly can't go for whatever reason, but they are legit. I've bought and sold on there with no issues at all. You can get some bargains if you're prepared to wait!

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 04/06/2024 19:13

My daughter is going to a concert tomorrow and the t&c state that they can cancel tickets if they are offered for sale through non authorised retailer. Not even just sold!

Aworldofmyown · 04/06/2024 19:16

Anywhere reputable doesn't have tickets.

Unfairtravel · 04/06/2024 19:31

We may have one ticket for dublin taylor swift but unfortunately won't know until much closer to the time (evolving family situation). If we do we would only put in on the official resale for exactly what we paid. If it's not bought we've heard of people just turning up at the venue on the off chance. If it got to that point we would just give the ticket to someone we saw happy that it went to a fan.

I wouldnt risk anything other than official reseller for me or the person buying it.

If you had wanted Edinbugh, ds may have to sell his pair as his husband is in hospital seriously ill & so ds might not be able to go.

mayaknew · 04/06/2024 21:45

It's Edinburgh we are looking for. Nothing on any of the resale sights yet though. The Taylor swift website says the only official resale website for the tour is AXS ?
