John Lewis Cafe vs Marks and Spencer Cafe?

John Lewis for the fact that I have had an underwhelming cheese scone from the M&S cafe that was far too soft and dough like for my tastes.

Last time I was in a M&S cafe was last Xmas in Milton Keynes and it was… fine. Nothing to rave about.

Much more gluten free choices at M and S cafe. John Lewis had nothing for me recently.

I think it may depend on the branch but in all M&S stores around here the service is just so slow. It doesn't matter what time you go, it's always slow. I much prefer JL a much bigger, light and airy cafe/restaurant and so much more choice.

M&S purely for the iced spiced buns. But we don't have a JL near here, so I could be missing out.

Our M&S only seem to employ people who move at a glacial pace too. No idea why it takes them so long to make a cup of tea and put it on a tray, I would have washed up and made a sandwich in the time it takes them!

Agreed. Also, some of them are trying to chase you out from 4 onwards, despite the published opening hours. I much prefer JL.

Cakes in John Lewis are fab. And the staff are always absolutely awesome and lovely. Always help bringing stuff over to table when my hands are full.

M&S only been in a couple of times but staff are very friendly and lovely with my little one. Cakes not as good as John Lewis and didn't like the new screen serving thing you have to do now
