What’s everyone doing today?

DH at work so me and my 2 year old DS are out for a nice walk and some lunch before going home and playing and probably housework! The weather is lovely where I am.

Secretly took the day off of work. As in, work knows but family doesn't. DH is jobhunting and needs peace and quiet to crack on so if I told him I were off work he would feel obliged to go to a museum and for lunch or something (I would also love to do this but we both have bits and bobs to get on with and have had lots of Bank Holidays this month with lovely days out, including last Mon. and Tue.)

Had originally planned to go to a hammam and float around doing fuck all but then realised it was wiser to do some life admin.

Went for a run 'before work' as usual. Then went to do blood etc. tests at my 'favourite' lab which is a bit of an arse to get to usually. Collected a parcel from a pick-up station (part of DH's birthday present), went to the post office for stamps (various birthdays coming up), went for a medical appointment. Wrote good luck cards for 15 interns. Just bought a sandwich from a ludicrously overpriced place that I love and haven't frequented for over a year as I would never be anywhere near there on a work day and it's closed at weekends. Going to eat it in the park now.

This afternoon, I want to buy tweezers, browse Nespresso capsules and get 2 prescriptions filled, then check out 2 places for a possible birthday brunch for DP, I'll have a coffee at both and write the remaining 17 cards for my interns, plus a birthday card for DBIL.

I also wanted to spend a book token (gift from interns), but have left it at home!

I will get home 'early' in time to take the DC for a routine medical check (typically DH would do this, but this way he can chill or get on with more of his jobs.) I will also make a nicer dinner than my usual Monday night after-work slapdash.

My son and his pony have done some in hand games today. He learned to reverse park his pony into a bay of poles.

this afternoon I’m getting the house sorted and then date night tonight as I am celebrating. Then a lie in tomorrow 🎉

Oh and I am also pleased that I got the free newspaper at the station as DS and DD love the random articles and quizzes, and usually I'm en route to work before it's delivered to the stations.

I know this post is old but it suits me - i just wanna tell the world I got my neighbour's Morris 1000 (ancient Morris Minor) into reverse gear! Yes she does know that I'm driving it and yes I am licenced to, and she has as many problems with it as me.
But, yay, after what seemed like eternity I managed to back it out of its little garage and prove to her that it will accept reverse gear if you force it to!
OK you can ignore me now.
