Just moved to a house with a garden. Lived in a glad before that so not used to having one. If you have a 6 and 8 year old boys what do they play with and have in the garden to entertain them?

There is a fold away canal water play that's fab.

Trampoline
goal
mud kitchen

At those ages I'd say your best options are

A trampoline
A goal
Swing ball

Anything else would probably be too small or outgrown pretty quickly.

It's been a while but a football, goal, swingball, water pistols, a swing.

Don't let them watch Time Team unless you're happy with holes all over your garden.

You could try getting them to grow stuff, give them a patch of the garden.

Water pistols, water balloons, sprinkler things, water slide. Basically if they can get drenched, make a mess and a noise they are happy.

We had something similar, I wish it'd been around when I was a boy.

Yes!

Also:

Pavement chalks
Bubbles
Stilts
Swingball
Wobble boards, Bilibo, any sort of balance or spin toy.

Bilibos are brilliant indoor-outdoor toys. Sit and spin/balance, stepping stones, helmets, train tunnels, freeze water in winter, anything you can think of.
