What's wrong with me?

On Friday I started to feel completely exhausted, dizzy, brain fog and muscle aches all over. The worst is in my eyes, its so painful to move my eyes around and feels like a really bad eye strain. I thought I was coming down with something so waited for the inevitable cough and runny nose. Today I'm still experiencing all of the above symptoms along with a bad headache but no sign of a cold or flu. My neck and shoulders feel sore, my back hurts, my eyes, my feet and hands. I feel cold as well. The worst is the absolute crushing fatigue. I woke up exhausted this morning and feel like I am melting into the bed when I lay down. What the hell is this?

Covid?

Scarletttulips · 27/05/2024 07:29

I also thought Covid

OneRedSandal · 27/05/2024 07:32

Is it normal for the muscle aches to last so long without a cold appearing? I've never had covid before.

No sore throat, cough, or stuffy nose.

Sounds like flu - flu doesn't always come with the cold symptoms.

ilovebagpuss · 27/05/2024 08:03

Have you had the recent Covid jab? Can be a bit unpleasant after my friend was really rough.
Otherwise it will have to be something viral coming on shingles or flu?
Can you get up and get a lemsip or something? Sounds awful

Turniptracker · 27/05/2024 08:04

Migraine.iT can have lots of symptoms besides a headache

JustToBeMe · 27/05/2024 08:08

I had similar a few weeks back, no cold symptoms, a bit of a cough, shoulders ached, stomach ache and like you say the fatigue, I had to take a couple of days sick and the whole weekend, slept most of the time.

OneRedSandal · 27/05/2024 08:13

Haven't had a covid jab recently. I have had a few migraines recently so that's interesting. Dr Google has suggested everything from a stroke to MS, so really appreciate the replies.

I think it sounds like flu. I've had it three times in my life and it hits like a tonne of bricks.

husbandcallsmepickle · 27/05/2024 08:22

My first thought was flu.

itsgettingweird · 27/05/2024 08:48

I've been like this too the past few days. Not quite to the same extreme but calf muscles hurt, shoulders tight, headache, sore eyes and feeling tired.

Also been waiting for the inevitable cold - as it's half term!

Does feel like a viral type thing and I've woken up with a swollen gland so I'm guessing I'm fighting something?

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

theresnolimits · 27/05/2024 08:54

Covid. I didn’t have the cough/cold symptoms but the fatigue was overwhelming both times.

Jeannne92 · 27/05/2024 08:56

Have you had a COVID test? There is shitloads of it about right now in various strains; in U.K. it's always harder to track / be aware of as there are much lower rates of testing there.

averythinline · 27/05/2024 08:58

Sounds like Covid to me had it a couple of weeks ago.

No cold symptoms until the irritating cough appeared for the last couple of days.... Exhaustion, aches, brain fog

BCBird · 27/05/2024 08:59

OneRedSandal · 27/05/2024 09:33

I'll see if I can find a covid test from somewhere. Do supermarkets sell them? Everything's shut here over the bank Holiday.
