When did you start to notice that you'd aged?

I'm turning 27 next week, which obviously I know is not old but I've just looked at myself in the mirror whilst I was doing my skin care and I'm already noticing more lines and creases! Especially around the eye area 😬

I'm dreading aging more and am starting to think about getting some Botox.

At what age did you start to notice?

45 😭 it’s tough I won’t lie

Motherrr · 26/05/2024 22:01

Had twins at 34. By 35 I still looked/felt young. By 36 I was starting to look and feel much older as face seemed to lose a lot of volume plus all the sleepless nights!!

When a workman gave me an OAP discount ~ I was still quite a few years away from retirement 😂

Around 39/40
im now 45 and I have aged drastically in the last 12 months though, happy days!

AuraBora · 26/05/2024 22:19

I'll be 42 in a month and I feel like I have really aged in last year or so.. didn't notice much or worry about it before 40.
27 though...seriously!

gleefulstar · 26/05/2024 22:20
  1. Now 50 and feel like I've aged a LOT in the last 8 years.

I hate how I look now and I used to be quite pretty. Now I look saggy and wrinkled and gaunt and actually, a bit masculine.

OldSow · 26/05/2024 22:21
  1. I suddenly started looking tired and saggy pretty much overnight. Until then I don't think I changed much from 20-35 at all.
Usernamewassavedsuccessfully · 26/05/2024 22:23

I had an ageing spurt in my early 30s with a baby, mum died and my marriage ended. I then had another spurt mid 40s - I had a hysterectomy and within 6m felt I looked significantly older. My friends who have gone through the menopause naturally did not seem to age so rapidly.

ClaustrophobicKipper · 26/05/2024 22:26

In 10 years time you'll look at photos of you now and think how fresh and young you look! Enjoy it :)

It's easy to forget in our superficial society, but aging is a privilege, not afforded to everyone.

And while our skin and outside starts to look older, our insides go through wonderful changes too. I can honestly the older I get the more at peace, grateful, and happier I am becoming

Whycantibetangy · 26/05/2024 22:30

When I started looking at my face every day on Teams calls in lockdown. 51 and always thought I scrubbed up pretty well but I can see jowls, baggy eyes, creepy neck and the beginnings of a turkey neck. Peri meno over the last few years have sucked the life out of my skin so I’m trying to add a bit of collagen back into it.

Diversion · 26/05/2024 22:34

53, at the start of the menopause. I have inherited nice skin from my grandma and mum, so few wrinkles but have noticed some sagging. I also inherited a lack of grey hair and at 57 when my hair is due to be dyed, there is very little grey. I have had weight gain though and this is very noticeable.

DameKatyDenisesClagnuts · 26/05/2024 22:36

Jawline disappeared overnight at about 45. One minute nobody could believe how old I was, next minute I looked like a melted candle Grin

Tumbleweed101 · 26/05/2024 22:38

I'm 48 and have started noticing more significant changes in last year or two.
Grey hairs, mood swings (peri?), aches and pains. My skin isn't too bad.

StarlightLady · 26/05/2024 22:44

In my 40s and suddenly woke up to the fact that l was having sex with my glasses on. 🤓

Ohgoodlord · 26/05/2024 22:46

50+ was when my looks changed beyond all recognition really. Ageing kicked in with a vengeance.

Quartzine · 26/05/2024 22:52

Dontbeabitterlemon · 26/05/2024 22:53

39 and notice crows feet, lines on forehead, start of jowls, downturned corner of mouth. Greyer temple area. Bloody grey pube - 1 or 2 wtf. Hair slightly thinner. Slightly crepey neck. Saggy jawline. People say 'oh you're so beautiful' but you can't help seeing the changes. Also weight goes on soooo easily now.

IrritatedB3dM4ker · 26/05/2024 22:55

About 54 I started to notice my neck was showing age and my eyes had crows feet

pinkstripeycat · 26/05/2024 22:57

Around 45 when my children stopped being so dependent on me and I looked in the mirror without interruptions. Got the shock of my life as I hadn’t looked at my face properly, closely for about 12 years! Lack of sleep from having children aged me. Also my age aged me! My eyelids had dropped. Now 50 my neck is going turkey

schnubbins · 26/05/2024 22:58

50 years and the onset of menopause

RemarkablyBrightCreature · 26/05/2024 22:58

52 and still no wrinkles. Stay out of the sun 😊

45-52 is a MASSIVE deal. No one tells you that! Until about 42/43 felt like I did late thirties then it all kicks off. Observed this in all my friends too
