Do most people do this? Am I missing something basic?! I’ve just somehow come across this, plan to start doing it but just wondered what benefits people have found from it? Do you get less colds/ infections?

I wonder this. And oil pulling.

I don't, also interested to know tho!

I brush my tongue when brushing my teeth but wish I could brush more further back but I just gag!

Helps to stop bad breath by scraping smelly bacteria off the tongue, people think it's just teeth and gums that cause halitosis but tongue can play a big role ( and cheeks I guess)

Done this for years, scrape the overnight crap of your tongue.

I don't think it makes a difference for colds etc. It just feels more hygienic, I don't feel like I have properly cleaned my teeth/mouth without scraping my tongue. I imagine it definitely helps improve my breath too.

I do it. Improves my breath and taste in my mouth. It will reduce the amount of bacteria in your mouth.

I do it every few days. Definitely worth it.

My GP (years ago when you could get in to see one) recommended I do it after a nasty ENT infection that just wouldn't properly go away. So yes - on a night, to remove the day's bacteria then in a morning to get rid of any that have had a party in my mouth overnight.

I also noticed a massive improvement in breath freshness.

I used to just brush my tongue and couldn't believe the difference once I started using a scraper.

I use a tung brush and gel from Amazon
